Norman Pattiz and PodcastOne

In 2012, Norman Pattiz launched PodcastOne, the leading producer and distributor of on-demand audio in the industry. The idea for this new company came to him after meeting Kit Grey who was representing various podcasts at the time. Together they have been able to launch a business with a wide variety of personalities and brands, including Penn Jillette, Larry King, Shaquille O’Neal, and Snooki. Their podcasts include Radiolab and Freakenomics as well as over 200 more of the most popular.

One of the most recent additions to their podcast line up is Beyond The Darkness, which will air on Chris Jericho’s network and will be hosted by Dave Schrader and Tim Dennis. This particular podcast will focus on the supernatural and feature episodes on subjects ranging from angels and demons, aliens, monster encounters, to miracles. Dave Schrader and Time Dennis will speak with a wide variety of researchers and those with hands-on experience to educate and entertain listeners.

Pattiz has a long history in the radio and audio business. He founded Westwood One, which owned or distributed a variety of well-known and popular radio stations and shows, including the NFL, NBC radio network, CBS News, CNN Radio, as well as both winter and summer Olympic Games.

President Clinton appointed Norman Pattiz to the Broadcasting Board of Governors of the United States of America in 2000, and then President Bush reappointed him in 2002. This agency oversees all of the nonmilitary broadcasting services, and Pattiz started the Americas Arabic language radio and television services which provides services to all 22 Middle Eastern countries, including one in Farsi for Iran.

Mr. Pattiz was inducted into the Radio Hall if Fame and the Library of American broadcasting awarded him the Giants Broadcasting Award in 2009.

As well as being involved in PodcastOne, Mr. Pattiz serves on the Council of Foreign Relations and the Pacific Council on International Relations.
